It’s not that we want Kelly Holcomb to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings this weekend. It’s that if he doesn’t start, it means Tarvaris Jackson will – and that’s not going to be good for anyone.
Jackson has a broken finger on his throwing hand. That’s kind of a big deal. According to WCCO.COM, even Jackson himself says he can’t throw accurately without a healthy index finger,
"That's one of the most important fingers, besides the thumb, to throw the football. I don't want to be out there if I can't control the football."
Well said Mr. Jackson – have a seat right over here next to Ryan Cook.
Sit him down, let him watch, and maybe he’s ready in a couple of weeks. T-Jack struggles enough when he has four good fingers and a good thumb. A broken hand might mean a 1-15 performance with 11 yards passing, and 3 interceptions.
