High fives all around.

We wanted to find a picture of Kirby Puckett standing next to or with Joe Mauer, but our limited google image searching didn't come up with anything usable. So...we went with Mauer getting love from his coaches and teammates after hitting what was no doubt a line-drive homer to left-center field.

The entire state of Minnesota is pleased as punch that Mauer is going to be raking all over Target Field for the next 9 years. We only hope that the Twins don't take a page out of the Wolves book and stop signing good players after this mega deal, much how the Wolves did with KG. A $100 million payroll is a perfect spot for the Twins to land -- its not over the top like the Yankess and Red Sox, but its not bottom feeding with the Royals or the Pirates. Bring on summer and bring on another MVP season for Mauer.
